When I Grow Up...

Elsie always says that when she grows up she wants a pink car...she then tells me that when I grow up she will get me a purple car! She imagines we will be like sisters cruising around on our pink and purple cars! I don't have the heart to tell her that my grown up car is a silver mini-van! (A mini van truly was my dream car...we bought it before we even had kids!)
One day when the kids were playing with the basket of Jon's old play cars Elsie happened to find a pink car and a purple car...so I wrote "mommy" on one and "Elsie" on the other. The result was a very happy girl...she spent the rest of the afternoon playing with those cars and dreaming of the day we have real cars like that!

James has no car in Elsie's imaginary world of dreams...because he is the baby (and in her mind he still will be when she is grown up)! He is happy to just play with the blocks and maybe eat a few...

While I am busy sewing this is their new favorite thing to do...a big box of wooden blocks and a basket of little cars can keep these kids busy for a long time!
