Fun with Grandma B.

Today after the pregnancy blessing we went to Grandma B's house to visit...Elsie loves going there...all the way to her house she was chanting "B, B, B" and patting her chest, meaning "I want to go to Grandma B's house!"
Grandma B. loves to spoil her girl...and she gave Elsie a couple buckets of water to play with outside on the deck...Elsie had so much fun pouring the water from one dish to another...
I just had to take a picture of her new hair bow in the perfect sunlight...

Elsie discovered the joy of sitting in a tree at Grandma B's house! There is a perfect branch on the tree for sitting on!
Look at her face...I think was enjoying that tree! She did not want to get out of that tree!
What a busy day for Elsie...I think she has lots of fun all day!

Pregnancy Blessing...

Today we attended the pregnancy blessing for Jessica and Nick...After the blessing service we went to their house for a little lunch and dessert...
All the kids (and Nick) had a picnic in the backyard...just for the record all the people with food held up to their mouths were posing for me...guess they thought it would make a great picture!
Jessica had a lovely table set up with sandwiches, potato salad and chips...
We had Elsie's favorite for dessert...rice-krispy bars!
And some home-made Popsicles with strawberry and mango chunks...yummy!
Here is a picture of the reason for the blessing...gotta love a little baby bump! I am certain it is a girl...and Elsie needs a girl cousin!

A Little Relaxing Time...

For the last few days Elsie has been teething...she is getting 2 more eye teeth...and they are having a hart time poking through! Elsie is in pretty good spirits though...she just needs a few extra cuddles...which you won't find me complaining about! Last night they only thing Elsie wanted to do was lay on the boppy pillow with her favorite blanket and watch Strawberry Shortcake...which she fondly calls "cup-cake"! After these teeth are through she will be all done teething until it is time for her 2 year molars! She is just getting too big!

Music in the Park...

This evening for a little entertainment we walked up to the park for Music in the Park! We had a fun time of listening to the music, playing at the park, playing in the water and people watching! As we sat in the grass listening to the music, Elsie saw the swings...she would not stop begging "wing, wing, wing!" until we took her over to the swings to play! She had to take a turn swinging in each of the 6 swings there were...she knows how to tire her mama out! So far she only likes the swings at the park...the slides and climbing on toys are not for her!
While swinging she noticed the lake...so we walked down to the lake so she could wade her toes a bit...
The water was super cold...but she didn't mind at all! She would have gone out swimming if we would have let her!
When we finally told her we had to go home she threw a bit of a fit...it is hard thing when you are one-and-a-half and someone tries to take away all your fun! By the time we walked home Elsie was struggling to stay awake...no nap, fresh air, and playing in the water and swinging all caught up with her! What a fun and relaxing evening...

Lilacs...

We have a huge lilac bush in front of our house...with lots more lilacs in the alley beside our house...so when we go outside or have with windows open we can smell the wonderful sent of lilacs...Yesterday Elsie and I went out and picked a bouquet for the house...
We have a little butterfly tucked into the blossoms...what lovely scents fill our house now...I will be sad when lilac season is over!

Sewing Projects...

I have finished with some sewing projects for me! These are the first "big people" things I have made...I normally just make clothing for Elsie. I guess last summer I did make a few skirts for myself...but I just used a tutorial for those things...
The first thing is a red sun dress...I need to have my grandma help me alter the bodice a bit...with my excavatum I have a very difficult time getting anything to look on me! The dress needs to ironed terribly bad...but I was in a hurry and didn't want to "waste" time ironing! Over all the dress turned out good...so I am happy!
The next thing is a jean skirt I made from an old pair of jeans...I had a pair of jeans that were too big for me but I loved the jeans...so I turned them into a skirt! I added some fun fabric to the hem for a little detail...
On the bottom of the jean legs were buttons...so I carefully lined the buttons up with the back of the skirt for a cute look...I love the skirt...the best part is I didn't have to get rid of a good pair of jeans!

Garage Sale Finds...

Last weekend while having our garage sale I manged to sneak away to a few other sales...I found lots of good bargains on some winter clothes for next year for Elsie. I got over 25 pieces of clothing plus a game, a Strawberry Shortcake DVD, a couple hats and little roller skates for Elsie all for about $25.00! All the clothes look like they have never been worn...and they are good brands like carters, baby gap and polo.
This is my favorite little sweater...love all the little flowers and the colours...
Tonight as I was folding all the new clothes Elsie kept wanting to wear the clothes! So she had quite a little look going on!

Don't you just love that little hat and fur sweater!? I am so happy that Elsie loves clothes as much as I do! What a fashion statement she was tonight!

Picnic Time...

This last weekend the weather was so lovely that we brought Elsie's highchair outside for a little picnic...
We put her in the shade by the flower garden...I love the clothes drying on the line...

Water Play...

On Friday Elsie really thought it was warm enough out for outdoor water play...
She started with a bucket of water that Auntie Emma filled...she grabbed her dolly and stared giving her a little bath...
She was thrilled with bathing her baby...we could hear lots of laughter...especially when she would shake her sopping wet baby at Emma to get her wet!

Love how Elsie is sitting...and love how far away that Emma is sitting!
Soon Emma thought that maybe they should fill the bucket with water and dump it into the wagon for a little pool! Elsie was thought that was a great idea and kept wanting more water to pour in the wagon!
She was enjoying the wagon even more then the little bucket...I think soon we will have to pull out the little pool...just for the record Elsie does not have a hump back...it is just her hood tucked in for whatever reason...it does look odd!
The kids thought Elsie needed some toys to play with in the water...so they got her all her bath toys...I love the way the duck looks in the sun against the bright red wagon...
What a fun afternoon of water fun! I have a feeling when it gets a little warmer out we won't be able to get her away from water! We will have lots of trips to the beach...

My Gardener...

On Friday my little sisters came to play with Elsie for a little while...and to "help" with the garage sale! Marissa decided she would weed my flower garden...
I love colours in these pictures...the muted greenery with the vibrant blue hat...I couldn't help but take some pictures...
Marissa was able to get lots of the garden weeded...but after she was done she broke out in hives terribly! Hopefully it was not from something in the garden!

Memorial Weekend...

On Friday and Saturday my sister Jessica and I had a huge garage sale...we both had lots of "junk" piling up in our houses...
Because Jessica is still not feeling great due to morning sickness...My sisters Ceara, Luara and Lisa were a big help! Ceara even volunteered to spend the night to help with Elsie in the morning...what a great bunch of sisters I have!
We actually got rid of lots of our "junk"...whatever didn't sell we put out in the driveway with a big "Free" sign! In the end Jon and I made over $100...so now I have money to go garage sailing next week and find lots of "treasures" to replace the "junk"!

Water Bottle...

A few weeks ago Grandma B. gave Elsie a little water bottle to play with...she found the empty bottle last week in the toy basket and wanted to drink some water from it...she did quite well all on her own...
I love the way that she sticks the whole top of the bottle in her mouth!
She very gently tipped the bottle up to drink...I put a bib on her thinking that she would spill all over and get cold...but she was concentrating so hard that she hardly spilled any! She just keeps learning lots of big girl things!

We Want Honey...

There are 2 bee keepers at my parents house! This spring Colter and Laura got 2 bee hives and lots of bees...I love their hat and nets...
The 2 bee hives in the woods...I think they look so sweet out there...all the pictures are taken from far away with the zoom...there was no way I was going to get any closer without having a net!
I wish I could write a lovely description of what is going on in these pictures...But I really have no idea at all! They look like they know what they are doing...and the pictures look so neat...I am so glad they are pursuing this interest...nothing is quite as good as hands-on learning...and bee keeping is such a lost art...and I can't wait till they harvest the honey!
