Making Faces...

Elsie is discovering facial expressions...and how to make them! I love watching her discover new things...and her "grumpy face" is darn cute...if only all grumpy people looked like this!
another grumpy face...Love how she sticks her lips together and wrinkles up her nose! Sometimes she complete the grumpy look by crossing her arms!
And the "happy face"...kind of a silly happy smile in this picture...just tonight she has learned how to make a "surprised face"...she opens her mouth and eyes up wide! She looks so silly! She does good to remember the 3 faces...when we say "make a grumpy face or happy face or surprised face" she gets it right every time! What a fun discovery...

Gettin' Fancy...

A few nights ago when we were visiting Grandma and Grandpa's house...the aunties decided to paint Elsie's fingers and toes...Elsie was more than willing to let them!
Little fingers getting a paint job...
toes nails all ready for summer...

A Walk to the Park...

On Tuesday the weather so so lovely that we that we all went for a walk to the park...Elsie just slid down the slid a few times and walked around...then she was ready to go back home. Jon was in-charge of the camera so we only have 1 picture of the park...
On the way home the sun was shining in Elsie's eyes...so she asked (maybe more like pointed!) for my sunglasses to wear! Silly girl!
Love her little pink crocks...just taking it easy in the stroller while mommy and daddy do all the walking!

Jump, Jump,Jump...

Last weekend Grandma and Grandpa bought a new trampoline for the kids! Elsie is always so excited to jump now when we visit!
She giggles and laughs...I think she a little jumping bean!
There is a "one kid jumping a time" rule on this trampoline...and Elsie is always super excited when it is her turn! I love watching her jump...her feet never leave the matt...she just bends her knees...but to her, she is touching the sky!

Elsie is always begging to go to Grandma and Grandpa's house...and now with the trampoline she is even more excited to go! What fun childhood memories...

Wii...

Today Uncle Colter was giving Elsie a few lessons on playing the wii...this was the first time Elsie has even played it! Normally the wii is a "hands-off" toy for Elsie...so this was a special treat!Looks like she was really getting into it!
Looks like she needed a little help from uncle Colter to get her golf ball in the hole...
With a smile like that it looks like she was pretty proud of herself!

Computer Time...

Elsie has learned how to climb on chairs now! If we leave the computer chair pulled out she will climb right up and help herself to the computer...
She can manage to pull up lots of new screens with the touch of just a few buttons! What a computer genius!

Birthday Party...

This afternoon we went to Keegan's first Birthday party...It was a lovely day outside so we spent most of the party enjoying the outdoors. I think Keegan enjoyed eating the frosting from his cake...
Elsie just couldn't wait for the gift opening! I think she wanted to rip into all the gifts! She was very interested in the gift we wrapped up for Keegan...I think she thought of it as "hers" since she helped to wrap it up!
We brought with a special gluten-free cup cake for Elsie to eat...

After she had eaten all she wanted of the cup-cake she fed it to the dogs! I think she was rather interested in those 2 little dogs...especially when they practically jumped in her lap to eat all the crumbs off her lap!
When we were getting ready to leave Elsie was trying to give Keegan hugs and kisses...
She was being so nice and loving...a little mother...
Whether he wanted hugs and kisses or not...she was going to hug him! I love this last photo...he is trying to get away...but she is happy to hold him there for a little hug! I think Elsie enjoyed the little party...and the hugs!

Dum-Dum...

Sometimes Grandpa likes to spoil his little grand-daughter with her favorite treat...dum-dum suckers! One day while we were all in town together Grandpa came of a store with a HUGE bag of dum-dum suckers for Elsie and her aunties...what a happy girl! I have a feeling that my idea of sugar, gluten and dye free suckers are not so appealing anymore!

A Big Helper...

Elsie always loves to help me fold the laundry and put away. Normally when I give her clothes to put away she walks just into her doorway and thows everything on the floor...but she must be growing up and learning where her clothes go! Yesterday she opened her bottom dresser drawer and shoved all her clean clothes into one drawer! She is slowly figuring out about chores...now I just need to teach her about organization...

He Can Do It!

Last week Jon was washing his work clothes and decided to hang them out on the line to dry! I had to take a picture of him doing so! I love that he hung each sock individually and that there are 3 pins on each shirt...I also love the fact that Jon is a rough and tough sort of guy yet he took the time to hang his work clothes out on the line!
Just a note that I really normally do his laundry...but I was busy at the moment so that is why he is doing it!

New Pants...

Last night I made these adorable little pants for Elsie...I added a big ruffle to the bottom so they would look something like "Eden's Bouquet"...I think Elsie really likes them! We went outside early this morning to take pictures of her wearing them...and I am posting lots of pictures because I just could not decide on one or two pictures...

Elsie was more than willing to stand outside and let me take lots of pictures...Love that she had to bring to dolly outside also!
A close up of the big ruffle...I find myself trying to put ruffles on everything that I make for Elsie! I think they add an adorable feminine touch...these ruffles are made out left over scraps from an old cotton bed sheet! The fabric from the pants are left over from Elsie's little rocking chair...

I love this picture of Elsie...the sun shining on her little curls...

A New Hair Do...

Elsie's little aunties love to fix Elsie's hair! She will rarely let them get close with hair brush...but on this day she let them go wild with her hair! They started with little pig-tails...
Such cute little pig-tails...
Then they got a little wild with lots of barrettes! How many can they fit on one little head!?

In the end Elsie came came with 3 pony-tails! What a crazy style! I hope Elsie and her aunties get a little better sense of style as they get older!

Broccoli

Elsie has a love for broccoli lately...I think she ate it with most of her meals last week! Funny thing is just a few weeks ago when I would put some broccoli on her plate she would refuse to eat it! One day I let her walk around with the entire head of broccoli and eat it right off the stem...and since then broccoli has been a favorite!
I can't wait for this summer when we can go to the farmers market and get lots of fresh and organic veggies! I am so happy that Elsie is a fan of lots of fruits and veggies...

Enjoying the Day...

We spent most of the day outside playing today...Elsie loves to be outside...she throws a fit when we have to come in! If she could sleep and eat outside I am sure she would! She is quite contented to sit on the front step and blow bubbles or draw on the sidewalk with chalk...
A highlight of her day is watching all the neighbor kids get off the school bus...today she was waving to all the kids as they walked past our house...I think she was rather disappointed they didn't stop to play with her!
Elsie has discovered her little wagon...she loves to go on wagon rides! She even had to give her baby doll rides in the wagon!
She couldn't quite figure out how to pull the wagon...so pushing it worked good for her...
She is not bug kind of girl...yet! But she does have a thing for rocks! She always seem to have a rock in her hand...
Just love this picture...how can anyone resist taking a picture of cute, chubby little toddler legs!?
Elsie cried and cried when we had to come in for dinner...so after dinner we all went on a long walk up town so we could get a little more fresh air...She almost fell asleep in her stroller! With all the fresh air Elsie had been sleep extremely well at night! She has been going to bed early and sleeps soundly all night...only to wake up all refreshed and ready to go back out and play all day again!
