Surgery...

I am always about 2~3 weeks behind on posting...and these pictures are no different! It was close to a month ago that Jon had his knee surgery...he was home recovering for a little over 3 weeks and is now back at work and as good as ever!

 The day of the surgery Jon was told to be at the clinic at 7:30am...a wee bit early for me! Grandma B. came to watch the kids so I could go with Jon...but James woke up and there was no possible way he was going to stay behind...so he came with. Just as we were leaving Elsie woke up and cried her little heart out for being left behind! James and I waited with Jon until he was called back to start the surgery prep...and James cried and kept pointing to the closed door where daddy was...he just wanted daddy. We went back home and picked up Grandma B. and Elsie and we all waited together. It seemed like forever...
   When we finally got home Jon was still so tired from all the meds that he went to strait to bed...it bothered the kids too much knowing that daddy was in the bedroom and they were not go to wake him up! By evening they could no longer contain themselves and just had to go in and entertain daddy. We had interesting sleeping arrangements going on while daddy was home...both the kids like to sleep with us, but I was afraid of the kids kicking Jon's leg so we moved the trundle bed in our room for the kids. Don't judge...it worked for us. {Don't worry though everything is back to normal now!}
 Jon proved to be about the worst patient ever. He took it easy for the first day or so...but that was it. By day 2 he announced he was going up town. I told him he wasn't supposed to drive...but he literally laughed at me. As he was hobbling out the door I yelled to him to as least bring the crutches with him...he came back in, all in a huff and picked a crutch up and carried it outside with him...not using it at all! I later heard stories of as soon the kids and I left to run up town after bring him home from the hospital he went outside for a quick smoke...and the doctor said no smoking!! And my sister {who works at the dairy queen} later told me that Jon had been in 3 days after surgery to enjoy a blizzard...he just propped his leg up on a chair while he ate...and he told my sister that she better not tell me! So...I am not lying when I say "Worst Patient Ever!"
 But...we love our patient and did our best to run and get ice water, bring him the ice pack and not harass him too much when he passed the time playing Farmville!
