Embrace the Camera {Life Today}

This picture represents my life lately...a bit messy, wild and chaotic...yet I am in the middle of it all calmly crimping my hair! Not sure why I was crimping it in the kitchen anyhow...that alone is a little crazy! Sometimes I have to wonder if I am in middle of it truly remaining calm or just simply doing my best to pretend to be calm! One positive of coming from a large family is thinking that chaos is just normal...
Here is a brief outline of our week...so far!
* Saturday- Jon finally came home after being gone for 2 full weeks! We had plans to go out with my sisters and some friends for a birthday...everything got canceled last minute so we went over to my parents to hang out...while there we all decided to go the local street dance. whirlwind trip home for a diaper bag. Grammie and papa wayne watched the kids and Jon and I enjoyed a date night along with my sisters and some friends...
*Sunday- Grandma B. and Patrick came over on their Harley for a visit. In the afternoon we packed up and went into town for groceries and a Target run!
*Monday- Jon had an early morning Dr. apt. Elsie woke up with a headache so I brought her to the chiropractor in town, I canned 11 jars of pickles and froze several bags of carrots and beans. My family all came over for a visit in the evening.
*Tuesday- Jon had a pre-op doctor visit. About 2 hours before we left we decided on a whirlwind day trip to the cities (a couple hours ride in the car!) so we could go to the Farmers Market! We need to learn to plan more in advance...a 3 hour warning would have been nice!!
*Wednesday- Jon had knee surgery at 7am...he didn't get home until almost noon. I made several trips back and fourth between home and hospital since the kids were not okay with being left with Grandma B! Another grocery store run in the afternoon. An evening visit to Grammie and Papa Wayne's to see cousin Oliver who is staying the week. Elsie decided to spend the night with the aunties and cousin, half an hour later papa wayne brought her back home!
*Thursday- I am pooped out and don't even want to think about the next few days...more chiropractor visits, more whining to play with the little cousin, more food to freeze, dental appointments, hair appointment...we are crazy sometimes. And we only have 2 kids...I don't even want to imagine what my parents daily list looks like with 9 kids!
Truth is I love being busy...I love the chaos...the curse of coming from a big family, I think! As crazy as it sounds I want my children to love and embrace crazy chaos...I don't want them to not be able to function when life gets crazy. Because we all know life is crazy. Embrace it. Go with it. Enjoy the ride...
