Embrace the Camera {Beach Days}

I almost skipped out on Embrace the Camera this week...but I decided to join and write a post with a feverish teething baby sleeping on my lap...4 teeth about to pop through...3 eye teeth and one molar...too many teeth to keep anyone happy...even with a teething necklace! Anyhow....
We have had a simply perfect summer...I feel like I missed out last summer between being on bedrest and having a newborn...so we have been drinking in every possible moment of this summer! Our favorite past time lately has been going to the beach...on this day James was napping in the car so I was able to swim with Elsie for a bit...
We have re-discovered a local public beach...a beach my parents used to bring my sisters and I to when we were little...it is a quite little beach...we are normally the only ones there...
A nice shallow beach...thought Elsie prefers to float around in the very deep water for some reason...it was her goal to swim in her floaty out to touch the buoys...she succeeded her goal with the help of Uncle Colter...

Happy Girl...love her smile! Elsie has literally lived in her swim suit this summer...very often she even sleeps in it...then wears it again the next day! I think we have certainly gotten our $14.00 out of it...it is getting wore out and she refuses to wear any of her other suits...guess I should buy her a new one for winter before long...

One of the best things about spending the afternoon at the beach is carefree snacking...my mom packed a basket of watermelon and chips and I packed a basket of beans and pickles...we met at the beach...spread our blankets in the sand, had a quick bite to eat then spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing in the cool water...and we always kept a bag of chips handy for a quick little snack...

We take up pretty much the entire beach when we go...blankets, bags, beach toys, food, floaty's...we bring a lot...and I am not sure why!

The kids always find something to keep them entertained when we are at the beach...Colter has made it his personal goal to see how large of rocks he can bring to shore from the deep water...or something of the sort...he is a crazy 13 year old...we all chuckle at him!
A perfectly lazy beach day...we need to squeeze a few more of these kinds of days in before summer is over...

I'm super jealous of your proximity to water! We're land locked. It looks like a total blast!

What an awesome spot in the world you've found! Where is it? The pictures are all BEAUTIFUL. We are trying to enjoy summer to the fullest, too.
