Bonfire...

A few nights ago we had a bonfire night at my parents house...Our bonfires are always filled with crazy fun! This one was a little quieter than normal because Jon, Ana and Brandon were missing...Jon and Ana can always make everything wild! This was Elsie's first bonfire...and she wasn't too sure...she kept saying "hot, hot, hot!" I am sure by the end of summer she will be loving bonfire nights...
Uncle Colter even brought out some sparklers to play with...Elsie loves the sparklers...she kept wanting to hold one! I wonder how well she will like the fireworks on the 4th of July!?
We always have lots of snacks...lots of chips and soda-pop...and fresh from the oven rhubarb pie, Apple pie and Peach pie! Yum! One note to my Mom...lets try to plan an easier menu or at least far in advance...I was far to frustrated making a GF pie...poor Elsie got an earful as I attempted to take my frustrations out in words after the crust didn't turn out quite right!
Everyone agreed that I was able to make the best fire of the night...good thing Jon wasn't there because normally he is labeled as the best bonfire maker...
Elsie was the happiest to walk around and play with her aunties...
A photo of the bonfire gang...what a crew...we don't look to lively in this picture...but we really did have a great time...
Have you ever played the "chicken Dance" song while sitting down? We created our own game and had fun! I think we looked funny to watch...at least this picture is funny is looking!
The end of every bonfire night is completed by dancing...good thing my parents live in the country because we crank the music up and dance around crazy like! Elsie and her aunties got into the dancing!
We had a great bonfire night and can't wait for the next bonfire!

no, the game you made up was a combination of "the chicken dance" and musical chairs...remember? crazy! at least none of you fell into the fire!

the pie --- well, i think ted and your dad were the only ones that liked the rhubard pie - and the peach pie was rather yukky. and later i found out nick doesn't even like pie (i felt bad about that - oh well)...so yes, i think we definitely need to stick to more simple snacks next time.

we'll for sure have a bonfire when ana & brandon are up the next time. ana does have a way of making things more lively, doesn't she??!! i just think everyone was on better behavior because ted was here...trying to make an impression, i think!
