One year ago today James was born...it feels like there is no possible way it was a year ago already...on the other hand I don't even remember what life was like before James was born! I remember waking up very early the day before he was born having very painful contractions...and Jon was working 6 hours away for home! Thankfully I spent the rest of the day at home laboring on and off all day. When the contractions were about 2-3 min minutes apart and quite painful my mom convinced me it was time to go to the hospital...My mom and 2 of my sisters went with me...and Jon made it about 1 hour before James was born!

We had a wonderful birthing experience...a fairly quick delivery...with no drugs at all...it was worth it...after waiting for so long James was finally born! Our special boy...
* a few hours old*
Now our baby is a big boy...a super busy big boy! This boy has no fear...he puts his mind to something and he will figure it out! He is all boy...he loves dogs, motorbikes, little cars, 4-wheelers, guns and music. He is a climber...several times a day he climbs up on top of the dining room table! He climbs on the couch, the beds, stools...anything possible really! He is learning how to drink out of a big boy cup...no more sippers for this big boy! Ever since he was about 6-7 months he thinks it is his job to push all chairs over on the side...not sure why! He loves destruction...just like his daddy! He also loves to dance...he either does the typical knee bobbing dance or he walks in circles so fast and so many times he gets dizzy and falls down-sometimes we have to turn the music off so he stops dancing!
*one year pictures take today...more coming!*
If this boys survives to adulthood with no broken bones or scars I will be mighty surprised! Every week he is sporting a new bruise or road rash some where. He constantly has a skinned up knee or two, it seems! Here is an example...all of this is from this past week:
*Wednesday...he fell and bumped his nose on the sidewalk and ended up with a bloody scratch.
*Friday...he fell off the ladder on the swingset and bit his tongue REALLY hard...lots and lots of blood! A chunk of his tongue was missing...it is still all icky looking today! He also stuck his finger in a beer can got a bloody finger!
*Sunday...road rash on cheek...not sure what happened...but it was red and icky looking!
* Monday...did not get hurt but did manage to poop in the tub! While I was cleaning that up he took quite a bit of the garbage out of the trash can and strewed the dirty paper plates about the floor...and while I was cleaning that up he spilled sand all over the kitchen floor from the beach toys!
* Tuesday...bit the tip of a marker off and drank the ink from inside the marker! It was a non-toxic marker so hopefully he will be okay!!
**I am sure there were far more little things...but that is a little highlight of how busy this boy is! Life would be boring without our special little man! Happy Birthday, James Hawthorne...we love you and all your busy ways!
