Embrace the Camera...Parade Day...

Last weekend we celebrated St. Patrick's Day by attending the Parade in town...the temp was under 20'...but because we go every year this year was no different...we simply added snowpants and an extra pair of socks. The Parade is a big event around here and talked about for weeks before...and we get all decked out with green hair, Irish pins special shirts and green headbands with shamrocks on springs...it is a big deal...especially for if you are 3!

Elsie looks forward to dying her hair green every year...this year we found some super fluorescent green hair dye...she also had sparkles on her eyes and nose...when you are mostly Irish you have to live it up on St. Patrick's day!

Just in case you are wondering she still is in the "No picture" phase...I am getting pretty good at sneaking some thought! Love that Green hair...

Nothing quite as good as pulling out the camp chairs for a parade in the middle of March with your snow pants on! We always sit in the same place every year...with my family...The kids all love the parade and always come home with lots of candy and tons of green necklaces! and slightly frozen toes...

For some reason sticking out the tongues must have been the theme of the day! Elsie is always thrilled to do anything with her beloved Papa Wayne and little aunties...such special memories. After the parade she talked Jon and I into letting her go home with her aunties...because what can possible be better than riding in the 15 passenger van!?

As soon as the parade started James decided it was a perfect time to be nursed and take a nap...so I watched the parade from in the van with a sleeping baby on my lap...he woke up just as everyone was folding up the chairs...perfect timing!

The proof of a successful parade...lots and lots and lots of green necklaces! Try as he might to eat some the tootsie rolls and dum-dum suckers all he got were the necklaces...
