Playing Together...

James is to the age of exploration...give him a basket of anything and he will happily play for quite some time! He is also beginning to explore new places...like in the bathroom trying to pull himself up by the toilet...and chewing on shoes in the entry! So moments like these...playing in one place, not a huge mess, right by his sister's side calls for pictures!
James has recently discovered the basket full of little cars on the dining room shelf...all of these little cars were Jon's when he was little...Elsie finds it quite special to play with daddy's old toys...

I was cleaning up the kitchen from lunch so Elsie took it upon herself to watch her little brother...she was playing with her barbie pool at the little table...so Elsie pulled the basket of cars over, right next to her, so her brother could keep busy! Elsie said she put the basket right by her so her brother wouldn't be lonely...she is such a good big sister!

They happily played like this the whole time I was cleaning up the kitchen...lately they have been playing so well together I find myself with nothing to do! Not really true...there is always something to do...but it feels strange to have time to do something I *want* to do!

I jinxed the playing when I quietly crouched down to take some pictures...I think James was afraid I was getting lonely with him playing so well...so he had to crawl on over and makes sure everything was okay...

A blurry one...I am having a hard time getting used to a manual focus...can't wait for that new lens!

Big Sister, Elsie...playing with her Barbie pool...this girl seem to always have some wild idea of what to do...she never seems to get bored for long! I think her imagination is her best friend...and often my worst enemy...I always remind myself life is about the little moments...

Happy girl...Elsie really is the best and most thoughtful big sister...I love watching her take care of her brother...what a girl...
