Finger Painting...

Friday night Elsie was able to experience finger painting for the first time...and she loved it!

Elsie had to have a little of every colour on her palate...
Quite an artist...at first Elsie was more than happy to carefully use the brushes and make pretty designs...
Before long Elsie was using her fingers and hands to paint...I guess every good artist gets a little messy...
She kept wanting more and more paint...as soon as all the colours were mixed together she would want more...soon her palate was very full of a mixture of colours...
How much paint can a little hand hold?
All the art work had such thick paint that even drying overnight was not long enough to completely dry...
Love the splatters on Elsie's arms and the overflowing palate of paint...
She just had a little paint everywhere...love how she is sitting...
Elsie did all her painting on the long paper roll...we now have the painting hanging up under the chalk bored in the dining room...nothing quite as good as custom-made artwork!
Love the sunlight in this picture...
I just love this picture...it is my favorite of the painting pictures...it shows colour and texture so well...as well as just how messy a one-and-a-half year old is when painting!
Soon Elsie was literally covered from head to toe in paint...
How she got it on her toes I will never understand...she was in need of a bath with lots of soap by the time she was done painting!
I think she must have rubbed her eye...Elsie had such a good time painting...she painted for over 1 and a half hours...and can't wait to paint again...I have a feeling soon we will have paintings hanging all over the house!

OH WOW!! looks like she had lots of fun! love the last picture of the paint around her eye!

i used to let you kids paint outside in the summertime on the picnic table - you'd all paint and paint and paint - and when y'all were done, i'd just hose the table off and stick everyone in the tub - it was so much easier than trying to wipe up the table with a dishcloth.

glad elsie had fun - stuff like this is so good for kids to do.
