Marker Fun...

Elsie has discovered that colouring on her hands is far more fun than colouring on paper! Elsie loves to play with markers lately...we did find out the hard way that these are not washable markers...and she still has red and green fingers to prove it! I now have washable markers written on my shopping list!
Her lovely marker drawings...I have labeled them with the date and her age and slipped them in her memory box...

Summer Dreams...

Today Elsie's new swimsuit came in the mail...We have been waiting for it to arrive so we can to the waterpark and play some evening. Elsie was not sure what to think of the swimsuit...she kept pulling on it and smiling. I think it must have felt funny!
She had to run to the mirror in her room to look...I just love the little criss-cross on the back! Such a cute suit...I looked all over online and finally found this one I liked...at walmart of all places! Now if only they made such cute looking suits for adults!

Tupperware Helmet

This afternoon before nap time we were cleaning up the living room...I found some tupperware in the living room that she had been playing with...so I gave it to her with instructions to put it away...she did put it away and came back in wearing this tupperware bowl on her head! She is always discovering new and fun things! She was very proud of her new hat! After spinning a few circles in the kitchen the hat fell and she on to the next adventure...

Preparing for Valentine's Day

Today Elsie I made some little tulle bags of candy hearts for her aunties and uncle for a Valentine gift...
Elsie carefully places each piece of candy on the tulle...after tasting a few pieces! I did try to pick out all the pre-chewed ones she lovingly places on the tulle also! The kids will have to think of the wet ones as a kiss!
The finished product! This is the first craft project that Elsie has really understood how to do it...can't wait to make May Day baskets next!

More of Today...

Today was just one of those days where I could not stop taking pictures! These pictures I thought were just neat and had to share...I love all the natural light shining in...Elsie was digging in the dresser for socks. Now that she can open the doors...we find socks all over the house!

Story Time...

Today Elsie pulled all her books out of the basket on the bookshelf. She just sat there and quietly looked through all of them. She has 2 favorite books..." Quick as a Cricket" by Audrey and Don Wood and a "Little People Farm" book with little lift flaps. The Audrey and Don Wood book was one of Jon's books as a small child. Grandma B. gave Elsie a stack of Jon's old story books for a baby gift when she was born. It is fun that now she able to enjoy his books...someday we can give them to Elsie's children to enjoy...a special little heirloom...

Hide-and-seek

Every morning when I get dressed and make the bed Elsie plays in the closet. She loves to "hide" just far enough over so I cannot see her...and today when I peeked in on her she also had her sunglasses on...upside down! She is so silly!
She was so happy to play hide and seek for quite some time this morning!

Pixy Hat...

My sister Lisa is an amazing self-taught knitter...she knits perfectly! I think I could quite easily take advantage of her knitting ability! This last week her project was this perfect pixy baby hat. It is so sweet! Very Vintage looking! Lisa has made a bargain with me that Elsie can have the hat only if I sew her a bag...after seeing this pictures of Elsie...I think I will be starting a bag for Lisa soon! My sisters and I make a good team I guess...Lisa knits, Laura crochets and I sew...Just think of all we can create!

P.S. to Lisa...Any time is fine with me for you to start those knit ice-cream cones for play food!! Not that I am rush you or anything!

Daddy and Elsie Time...

Tonight Elsie found the lap harp in her closet and patiently sat on Daddy's lap so they could play it together...Elsie is very particular to make sure she only strums the strings with a pick...silly how they pick up on little things!

A Girl Of Many Hats...

Elsie loves hats...she always has...even as a little baby she rarely pulled her hats off...So I enjoy making sure she has plenty of hats to dress her up in! This is a vintage hat I had bought several years ago for a photo shoot I was doing of my sister Marissa...and now it fits Elsie!
She looks very vintage with the hat...her little blue dress coat and a vintage scarf...

Bath Time...

We have a little froggy in the house! I picked this cute little towel up for Elsie to use after bath time...she loves her special little towel!
This morning after bath time she was happy to cuddle on the couch and let me take some pictures of her!
Toes...all wrinkly after a nice long bath!

Story Time...

Today all the aunties, the uncle and grandma came over for a visit. Elsie loves it when the kids come! She will squeal and jump...they are her best friends! All afternoon they played...dress up, house, dollies, library, tea party...anything that uses their imagination! Just before leaving they were all looking at books in the living room...they were so cute looking! My mom snapped these pictures...my favorite is the last picture! Just a note that none of these pictures were posed...they were just doing their own thing and pictures turned out so sweet!

Mommy's Cozy Sweater...

Last night Elsie did not want her pajamas on...she wanted my pajama sweater on! She has a "thing " for my cozy sweater. I have a pink one and a black one...and these are her favorite! When she gets tired for bed she will often bring me my sweater so I can put on and cuddle with her! It is so funny that these little things mean so much to a small child!
She happily wore the sweater all evening long! Just look at the happy face!

Today's Project...

Today I created these new curtains for the entryway. I had a simple white tab curtain hanging...but thought a splash of colour would be lovely. I purchased some fabric, ironed a hem and glued some ribbon on the edge. I then pined the fabric in place over the tab curtain. I like the way it turned out...it was easy to do and in-expensive so I will be able to change the fabric if I want a differed look.

Sleeping Beauty...

This afternoon I brought Elsie to the chiropractor in town and the receptionist gave Elsie these fancy little sunglasses! Elsie put them on and thought she was the cutest little girl around! After the chiropractor visit we went to play with all her aunties and uncle...and on our way home from the play date she fell asleep in the car wearing the glasses. So I did what any responsible mother would do and ran in the house to grab the camera to take some pictures before bring her inside! After all it is these magical little moments that make an ordinary day so special!
