On Sunday we celebrated St. Lucia day with breakfast in bed...or least that was the plan until Elsie declared that it was not safe to eat in bed...so we settled with breakfast in the Living room...we had a tasty GF/CF Raspberry jelly roll and fresh canned peaches for our breakfast.
Elsie thought eating breakfast in the living room while watching TV was great fun...Elsie brought daddy his breakfast...when she gets older we will put a lit wreath of lights on her head as the legend goes...After Breakfast Daddy and Elsie put together the little miniature gingerbread
houses...This was the first year we did the miniature houses...Jon said they were far to little for his fingers...so next year we will do the regular big house...
I love this picture...Elsie peering over Jon's arm to watch what is going on...
The decorated house...I think Jon enjoys making and decorating the gingerbread houses...especially this year since Elsie is old enough to help...
After the houses all dried Elsie and I set up a little gingerbread village...the little village now sits on the toy table in the living room...
What a fun St. Lucia day...

you'll have to get a head wreath that is battery operated like what we have - much safer than candles!
we hardly observed st. lucia day this year, other than a cobbled together breakfast of cinnamon rolls and OJ --- first time in a long time that we didn't observe it with a fancy breakfast and having the little girls dress up in their white gowns and crown and let them serve everyone else. i think they were kinda disappointed. ahh, but life sometimes just gets too hectic around here - but next year will be better! i'm glad you're doing this tradition with elsie - she'll love it as she gets older and have lots of warm fuzzies when she thinks about it!
