Dress-up Play...

Since today was Tuesday my family came over for a visit this morning...Elsie gets super excited when the kids come here to play. Every week the kids enjoy playing dress up in the basket of hats, gloves, scarves, shawls, hand bags and shoes in Elsie's room. Elsie loves to play dress up as well...today the girls talked Elsie into wearing a vintage baby coat, a sun hat and her mud boots...they than talked my mom and I into letting them play outside on the wet deck...they were quite busy imagining something and all we could hear through the window was lots of giggles and chattering. I am so thrilled that Elsie has her aunties to show her the importance of imaginary play!
I love the way her coat was buttoned! If I changed the colour of this picture to black and white I think she could pass for a depression era child with that filthy vintage coat!
Something sure was funny! Elsie would not cooperate at all for a picture...she was busy being a goof and trying to get her aunties to laugh!
The shawls that Emma and Marissa are wearing I picked up at a garage sale a few weeks ago for a quarter each...and they have so much fun wrapping themselves up in them...what imaginations!
This is my favorite...Emma wears these every time she comes over...she doesn't care at all that her heals hang over the backs...they fit her just great...in her opinion! She gladly clumps all over the house (and outside!) in them...I am sure it won't be long and Elsie will be clumping around in the other pair of dress up shoes!
