Baby Chick...

Last Friday my dad and the kids stopped by with a little surprise for Elsie...a little baby chick! My dad brought some eggs from their chickens to his friend who has an incubator so he could hatch them...now my dad has over 12 little chicks to add to his "flock". (what is a group of chicks called?)
Elsie loves chickens...and this little chick was no different...she couldn't wait to hold it! It is funny that she screams when a fly dares to get too close to her...yet she just loves the baby chicks! I would much rather have a fly buzz around me then hold a chick!

I love this picture...if Elsie could have had her way we would have a chick living in our house!

She only tried to pick the chick up one time by it's neck...She was very gentle the rest of the time! She will often start making little "chirping, chirping, chirping" noises and cup her hands saying "hold"...meaning "can we go see the chicks and hold them?" I think she just might have gotten Jon's "farming" genes!
