watching the boats...

The day ended with a trip down to the canal to watch the boats go under the bridge. No trip to Duluth is complete without a walk on the pier...we just have to do it every time!
Everyone found a spot along the pier to watch the boats...
We were lucky to see 2 HUGE boats go through...
Before heading home we ate some cotton candy and popcorn on the picnic blanket by the lake. Elsie took a little nap and the aunties and uncle climbed on more rocks...We had a very nice and relaxing weekend...

Just like my Aunties...

While we were at Enger Tower the kids decided to climb on the rocks...Elsie was happy just to watch for a bit...but not for long...she wined until I let her stand by a rock...She then realized that the kids were climbing up and she was just standing there! She tried to climb up...but those little legs are were just not long enough...she she whined...
She sat on a rock with auntie Em...but she REALLY wanted to climb way up with the kids...she just kept looking up at the kids...
Grandpa to the rescue! Grandpa climbed up the rocks with Elsie so she could part of the kids! She was happy then! What would Elsie do without her Aunties and grandpa?!

A Weekend Day Trip...

Last weekend we took a day trip to Duluth with my family. We had a good day filled with lots of good memories and good times...
We started the day with a picnic of hotdogs on the grill on the hill...beautiful scenery...This was Elsie's fist time to Duluth...I think she enjoyed herself!
The next stop was Enger Tower...we walked around the grounds and looked at all the lovely flowers...then we climbed the tower to enjoy the view. Jon carried Elsie all the way to the top of the tower...i think he was a little pooped out by the time he got to the top!
Enjoying the view...

A Dinner of Beans...

Elsie has been exploring new textures of food...she loves to squish food between her fingers then pop it into her mouth! She has discovered just how good baked beans are...and what a lovely mess they make! Most evenings Jon and I take turns cleaning up the baby and the highchair and floor.

More Pictures...

We were all dressed up...a rare thing...so we took some family pictures...Love the way they turned out! Jon is not making a silly face and Elsie is smiling too...
Elsie got tired of sitting and waiting for dinner...so she had to stand for awhile and just look so cute!
Jon looked so spiffy in his new clothes...such a rare thing for him to be totally cleaned up and lookin' so good...love it!
Jon and Elsie...I think jon loves to show off his sweet baby girl!

All Dressed Up...

This last weekend Jon's brother and his family came up for the weekend for a wedding...we got the kids all dressed up for the wedding and took some pictures...Elsie loves Keenan's toes...
Love these pictures...the brothers and their babies...they all look so spiffy in their dressy clothes!

An Evening At The Fair

Last week we was the county fair...so we went friday evening to see all the excitement! It was very warm out so we didn't stay too long...we showed Elsie the animals...she wasn't very interested! She enjoyed people watching the best!

We checked out a few exhibits...Jon got his cheese curds...I got some cotton candy...and then we went home...a fun way to spend the evening!
